I came into Foster Brook looking for an Italian place I saw billboarded on Rt 219 South and when I couldn't find it I found this place. I always prefer to patronize local eateries so this place fit the bill.

Walking in you find a typical local type restaurant.  Lighting's a little dingy, the carpet's worn and well past its time.  The kind of place Robert Irvine would have fun playing in.

Menu prices are quite reasonable. Sandwiches can be ordered by themselves or with a side for an additional 90c. I saw they serve a beef on weck (undipped) but I'll be in Buffalo next month so decided to wait until then and ordered a hot turkey sandwich,  one of my favorites.  And I did not have long to wait.

The gravy is made onsite which I like, but has a slightly thick texture and didn't taste so much like turkey gravy; it was good, don't mistake me, but if I had some bread I wouldn't be mopping it up. Which I love to do because I love homemade gravy so much.  My guess is too muse base or too much thickening agent.  Left a weird taste in my mouth after eating.

The fries seemed to be frozen with a coating of some kind that made them extra crunchy. They stood up well to the gravy.

The sandwich itself I can't say enough about.  I never had a hot turkey sandwich with *real turkey* inside! Probably from one of those turkey breasts if I had to make a guess (and I am) but I got 3 thick slices that impressed me a lot.

Had to wait until I was nearly finished before getting a refill on my iced tea.

My waitress was very friendly and professional, when I was hemming and hawing over what to order she verbally poked me recommending ordering a beverage,  which snapped me out of my trance nicely and helped move things along.

    Do I recommend? Yep.
    Would I return? Yep!

    Drop by.

This place gets 2 stars because of their home fries and sweet waitresses. Very reasonably priced but the food is sub par. HUGE pancakes but they have no flavor. Bathroom also smelled like a litter box. Decent coffee though.

Food wasn't hot, restaurant wasn't particularly clean.  Turkey noodle soup had turkey and noodles in it, but no flavor.  Texas hots were basic, bread was stale.  Seats were repaired with duct-tape.  Pricing was fair for what you got.  Recommend PERKINS, across the street.

If the Lighthouse does not do some renovations inside and out they will be out of business.  Inside is a dump and the outside building looks awful.  The tables, booths, chairs, carpet etc... are so old and run down that something needs to be done.  You can tell the owners are not putting any money into this establishment's décor.  Only reason I'm giving it two stars is the fact that their breakfast is decent and their pancakes are huge.  Every now and then the homefries and hashbrowns are way overcooked however. Been here about a dozen times for breakfast over the past several years just because it's close to home.

Have tried this local diner a handful of times every time I'm hoping to have a good experience every time Im let down . today September 3th  2017. I stopped in for their stuffed peppers special when I got my dinner it was meatloaf in the shape of a pepper with red sauce I question the waitress she said that the cook said that there's pepper in it it's not actually in a pepper isn't that stuffed peppers when it stuffed in a pepper. So I paid for my pop and left $2.01. I told the cashier and was dissatisfied with the faults advertisement . This will be my last trip to this place again too bad local restaurant can't make it decent meal
